wonder weeks [May. 5th, 2008|06:53 am] i have been listening to this album over and over. "the magic yard" is one of the prettiest (and creepiest) songs i have ever heard. an old and dear favorite! i also took my tiny shoulder surgery stitches out myself! it was like correcting an embroidery mistake. i felt tough as nails for 2 minutes. i am attempting grocery shopping, much writing, painting finishing, new embroiderstory, photo developing, apartment hunting, gluing my poor red shoes back together (i reufuse to buy new ones until they turn to dust) and homemade lemonade tomorrow. today i smell like an almond cookie. love, rebecca p.s. hola fellow mexicanos! happy cinco de mayo! :) Link

camping tents, racing rivers, yellow aprons [Apr. 28th, 2008|10:50 pm] "the cottonwood ghosts (and my ill imagined gun)" "when we pay attention" here are some paintings i've done for a show at pony club gallery in portland about imaginary worlds. i am so attached to these so it was REALLY hard to send them off! it opens may 1st, so i hope you portlandeers can make it :) i just got back from one of the craziest most wonderful weekends in awhile! i slept under a big night sky. i promise i'll tell you all about it very soon. so many wonderful, scary, strange and exciting things are happening! it's like my life is giving a fireworks show. lemonade weather has come earlier than expected this year, irises are blooming brighter blue than i ever remembered, life is racing along faster than i ever thought possible (i'm trying quite fruitlessly to dig in my heels), and i've been dancing around to old beatles records whenever i have free time. for the record, i am an apallingly bad dancer but it's so fun! i miss the mountains and rivers. love, rebecca Link

lucky three! [Apr. 23rd, 2008|12:43 pm] it's good to start off your day with a little bit of elliott. yesterday i started it by rearranging my security bag of important things (again) that i carry around everywhere. while doing so i realized that a mysterious, blasted someone stepped on my headphones (murdering them). hell and death i say! i plan to buy new green ones when i get paid this week! following this incident, i finally had the minor shoulder surgery which proved quite painful, but made my drawing arm much better in the long run. my poor little arm has put up with alot :( please bear with my lack of drawings and pokey comissions, i'm awful sore. this morning i wore lipstick the color of a strawberry as well as a soft pink t-shirt. i felt very much like a girl! paintings for pony club are almost done, and full of my beekeeping ghosts, crisp yellow aprons, meteorites and cottonwoods. i will soon have something other than my silly ramblings to share :) now i am off to try to find good fruit to eat and a dress to wear to the music festival this weekend. we are camping out! i hope you're having a lovely day, i really do. i will be thinking of you. april showers, april flowers, and last but not least love!, rebecca Link
